To stop cleaning toilet brushes …
3 mn per brush,
Wooden sticks (about 1cm diameter, length 45cm), pine needles, and raffia.
Pruning shears (otherwise it will just take more time), and a knife.
How to make a toilet brush ?
Cut a wooden stick at the right length with the pruning shears (otherwise with the knife) and make a notch with the knife at about 5 cm from one end.
Make a double knot in the notch with a piece of raffia.
Place half of the pine needles under the stick and cross the raffia strands around the needles.
Place the other needles on the stick, then cross the raphia strands around them.
Pull the strands, cross again the strands around the needles, and make a tight double knot.
Here they are ! Green needles … are green, drying ones are light green, and dry ones are brownish red.
Here is a toilet brush on its carved wooden stand.
Instead of cleaning this toilet brush, you’ll make another one. The old one will be composted or used as a fire-starter, once dry.
Advantages
- The end of a chore, cleaning toilet brushes.
- A cleaner solution.
- The time to make one is less than the time to try to clean a store-bought one.
Limits
- For those who have no nearby pine tree, it will be difficult !
